Let’s first discover where Pilates originated. It was created by Joseph Pilates who combined some Yoga practices with a few regulated movements. This fitness program was intended to enhance your general fitness level while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

What is required to do Pilates?

This is the best part… all you need is a positive attitude to practice Pilates! The Pembroke Fitness Centre provides the other 3 main ingredients to an energizing Pilates session; Certified Instructor, mats and work-out studio.

This perfectly balanced exercise program is going to help your physical and mental health. You’ll feel a sense of release by focusing on your breathing. At the same time the workout at hand will seem like a breeze:

  • Improved flexibility
  • Eliminate or decreased back pain
  • Tone your body muscles
  • Improve your posture
  • New found overall energy levels in the body
  • Learn correct coordination for the body and the mind

How Much Does it Cost?

Pilates is included if you have a full facility membership but a membership is not necessary. If you’re not a member the cost is; 10 classes for $75.70 and 20 classes for $118.99. See the schedule above for current class availability.

To participate in a Pilates class join us on Thursday’s  at 5:30pm.
